Below are detailed descriptions for the grading we use for our used records.
Mint:
Cover: No marks, stickers or writing on the cover. No wear to edges or corners.
Vinyl: No visible marking, scuffing or scratches and plays perfectly.
Excellent:
Cover: Cover may be slightly marked or have an original price sticker on.
Vinyl: May have slight marking or scuffs, but still plays perfectly with no pops or cracks.
Very Good:
Cover: Cover may have some marking or wear around the edges. Signs of 'normal wear'.
Vinyl: May have scuff marks and signs of some wear but will still play almost perfectly throughout, with only 'barely detectable' crackles or pops.
Good:
Cover: Normal used cover wear such as ring wear and split seams.
Vinyl: May crackle, pop or make other annoying noises, but only occasionally, never continuously, and not more loudly than the music being listened to.
Fair:
Cover: Cover may be slightly torn or repaired in places. May also have writing or stickers on it.
Vinyl: May have continuous low level crackles, pops, etc... but not so loud as to make the music completely unlistenable or unenjoyable to the casual listener. Might also have "nasty little scratch" causing popping on one or two more songs, with the rest of record playing fine.
Poor:
Cover: Cover may be torn, repaired or very worn. May also have writing or stickers on it.
Vinyl: Not all songs are playable. We very rarely have any records in in this condition. If so, more details will be given in the records description.
Blank:
Cover: The record is in a blank black or white generic cover. NB: This will only be noted if the record did not originally come in a blank cover.
Vinyl: Does not apply.
